III Points has twelve sets on at once all night, and the last hour of Saturday is a six-way pick
231 sets, 13 stages, 4pm to 4am both nights. Ten stages never stop, so you see about one set in twelve. Here is where the real choices are.
III Points has put out its set times. Friday 16 and Saturday 17 October at Mana Wynwood in Miami: 231 sets on 13 stages, and every stage runs from 4pm to 4am both nights.
Ten of the 13 stages never pause. One set ends and the next starts on the same minute, twelve hours straight. So there are between ten and thirteen sets playing at any moment, usually twelve, and no quiet hour. Stay all night and you see about one set in twelve.
There is also almost no catching the end of something. On Friday, 106 of the 112 sets sit entirely inside a set on another stage. On Saturday it is 111 of 119. Whatever you pick, you miss whole sets elsewhere, not halves.
The 444 stage asks for four hours at a time
The 444 stage runs three sets a night, four hours each. Friday is Heidi Lawden 4 to 8, DJ Harvey 8 to midnight and Floating Points midnight to 4. Saturday is Willikens & Ivkovic 4 to 8, Red Axes 8 to midnight and Seth Troxler midnight to 4.
Stay for all of DJ Harvey and 39 sets start on other stages while you are there, 30 of them start to finish. Seth Troxler costs 35 whole sets. Four hours is a third of the night, so decide before you go whether 444 is where you live or where you visit.
Friday: 11:30 and the close
At 11:30 on Friday, Cloonee on Mind Melt and Danny Daze b2b DJ Godfather on S3QU3NC3 both run 11:30 to 1. Hamdi is on RC95 from 11:15 to 12:15, and DJ Harvey hands straight to Floating Points at midnight.
The end of Friday is the first wall. Vintage Culture b2b Max Styler start Isotropic at 2. Pawsa on Mind Melt and Honey Dijon on S3QU3NC3 both start at 2:30. Disco Lines starts RC95 at 2:45 and Flying Lotus closes Sector 3 from 3. All of them end at 4. Pick one and stay.
Saturday: three sets on one clock, then six at once
Underworld play Mind Melt midnight to 1, against VTSS on RC95 from 12:30 and Seth Troxler just started.
At 1:30, Four Tet on Mind Melt, 999999999 on RC95 and HAAi on S3QU3NC3 all play 1:30 to 2:45. You get one of the three.
Then the hardest hour of the weekend. Charlotte de Witte, KETTAMA and Tiga all start at 2:45 and all end at 4. Marco Carola b2b Franky Rizardo started at 2:30. Seth Troxler is on until 4. Sunn O))) close Sector 3 from 3.
| Stage | Set | Time |
|---|---|---|
| 444 | Seth Troxler | midnight to 4 |
| Isotropic | Marco Carola b2b Franky Rizardo | 2:30 to 4 |
| RC95 | Charlotte de Witte | 2:45 to 4 |
| Mind Melt | KETTAMA | 2:45 to 4 |
| S3QU3NC3 | Tiga | 2:45 to 4 |
| Sector 3 | Sunn O))) | 3 to 4 |
Nothing ends early, so there is no way to split it. Franky Rizardo has 10 upcoming shows on our calendar, the most of anyone in that table.
Where the breathing room is
The three stages that do pause are Mind Melt, Sector 3 and Grand Central, the ones with bands and rappers on them. They leave 15 to 30 minutes between acts. On Saturday, Mind Melt goes quiet from 11:30 to midnight before Underworld and from 1 to 1:30 before Four Tet. Those half hours are the only free moves on the property.
Six of the late names play Indio the weekend before
DJ Harvey, Floating Points, Four Tet, KETTAMA, Seth Troxler and Ben Sterling all play Head Trip in Indio on 10 and 11 October first. And 21 of the names on this schedule are on the Hocus Pocus bill two miles away on 30 October, which we wrote about last week.
The full grid is on the III Points event page. Save the sets you want, and settle the 2:45 question before Saturday.
