Venga has a single out Friday, her first on a label we already count
Her first single on Trace Amounts is out Friday. The eight labels behind her records hold 308 bookings still to come. Venga herself holds none.
Venga posted a clip of herself playing something that isn't out yet. "Who wants ?", 4 September, and by this week it was at 4,985 likes and 635 comments, most of them the same question. Three days later she posted another one: "So, who ?". Neither says what the track is.
She doesn't have to. There is exactly one unreleased Venga record with a date on it, and the date is Friday: I Got It, on Trace Amounts, catalogue TA45E, out 18 September. Everything else in her catalogue is already on shelves.

The label
Trace Amounts is Westend's label. He started it in New York in 2023, after years of putting records out on other people's, and three of the ten tracks Beatport lists as the label's biggest are still his own.
It's also small, and we already count it. Three of its artists are in our index and all three have dates ahead: Westend with eight release credits on the label, Tini Gessler with four, Dansyn with two.
Roster here means whose records come out on the label, by release credits — not who is signed.
Between them that's twelve bookings still to come and 83 editions all-time. Four of those dates are Westend's own. A short list and a busy calendar is a particular kind of place to land a first single.
Venga has been doing this a while, and rarely twice in the same room. Nine labels have put out a Venga single before this one: Insomniac Records three times across its IN/ROTATION and Discovery Project imprints, Helix Records five times over, then Sink or Swim, Box of Cats, House Call Records, Uprise Music, Know Where, G-Mafia and Club Educate. Night Bass put her on a compilation. Friday makes Trace Amounts the tenth.

Eight of the labels in this story are in our index: the six that pressed her singles, plus Night Bass and Trace Amounts. Add up what those eight have still to come and it's 308 bookings — Insomniac Records alone is fourth on our Most Booked Labels board this season with 193.
Venga's own count in the same index is zero. Not a low number. Zero. We hold 152 upcoming festivals with 4,908 lineup slots between them, plus 272 other events, and her name is on none of them. Our records show no past bookings for her either.
Some of that is geography: Venga is French, and our catalogue leans hard North American, so an artist working mostly out of Europe can be busy all year and never touch it. But the labels pressing her records are largely the same American ones filling those 4,908 slots. Her records are here. She isn't, yet.
One of those two things is going to change.

So: follow her, then go and buy the single on Friday. The app's whole job is telling you the day that first line changes.
