At Seismic, Sara Landry and Layton Giordani close Sunday in the same 90 minutes, and Porter Robinson and VTSS share Friday at 10

114 sets, five stages, three days. Every night ends with two or three big names playing at the same time. Here is where you have to pick.

Seismic Dance Event has put out its set times. Friday 13 to Sunday 15 November at The Concourse Project in Austin: 114 sets on five stages.

The three big stages are Tsunami, Volcano and Frequency. The Secret and Technobus run alongside them with a new DJ every hour. Friday starts at 4 and Saturday at 3, and both run to 1am. Sunday runs 2 to 11, so it ends two hours earlier than the other nights.

On all three nights, the biggest names on the three big stages play at the same time. So every night ends with the same question: which room?

Friday: get there by 5:30

The early call on Friday is Chris Liebing, on Volcano from 5:30 to 7. He has played 121 festivals in our records. Only Above & Beyond, at 125, have played more of anyone on this bill. Nothing else that big plays against him.

Friday at 10: Porter Robinson or VTSS

From 10 to 11:30, Porter Robinson plays a DJ set on Tsunami and VTSS plays Volcano. Same start, same finish. Marco Strous is on Frequency for nearly the same stretch, 9:30 to 11:30.

There is no clean split here. Pick one, or take 45 minutes of each.

Then at 11:30 all three stages change over together. horsegiirL closes Tsunami, Maddix closes Volcano and HNTR closes Frequency, all from 11:30 to 1. Since everyone moves at 11:30, that is the easy moment to switch rooms.

Saturday: the night you can split

Above & Beyond have the longest set of the weekend, two hours on Tsunami from 11 to 1. ØTTA has the same two hours on Frequency, at the end of the ØTTA x Hotties takeover that runs that stage from 5pm. Brunello starts on Volcano half an hour later, at 11:30.

Because Above & Beyond play for two hours, you can catch the first hour of them and still see most of Brunello or ØTTA. It is the one ending this weekend where you do not have to give up a whole set.

The decision earlier in the night is 9:30. Max Styler on Tsunami and SPFDJ on Frequency both play 9:30 to 11, and Luke Alessi starts on Volcano at 10.

Sunday at 9:30: Sara Landry or Layton Giordani

This is the hard one. Sara Landry closes Tsunami and Layton Giordani closes Volcano, both 9:30 to 11. They are the last two sets of the weekend, both techno, at exactly the same time. Sara Landry has played 87 festivals in our records and Layton Giordani 71.

Whichever one you pick, you miss the other completely. There is nothing after 11 to make up for it.

The hour before is busy too. KI/KI plays Tsunami from 6:30 to 8, then Brutalismus 3000 from 8:10 to 9:20. On Volcano, Notion plays 8:15 to 9:30. Benwal is on Frequency from 8:30 to 10. If you have decided on Sara Landry, Tsunami from 6:30 keeps you in one place for the whole night.

The small stages are worth a walk

The Secret and Technobus never stop for long: a new DJ every hour, each night, on both stages. If you are between sets on the big stages, something new starts on one of those two every hour.

The full grid is on the Seismic event page. Save your sets there, and make the Sunday call before you go.
