At SCREAM Edmonton, Alesso, Kayzo and Jackie Hollander all close at 1:30 on Friday, and Tiësto and ANIME do it again on Saturday

48 sets, 4 stages, 7pm to 3am both nights. All four rooms change over at the same time, so you pick one of four, six times a night. Here is where it gets hard.

SCREAM Edmonton has put out its set times. Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October at the Edmonton EXPO Centre: 48 sets on four stages, Elm Street, Camp Crystal Lake, Monsterhaus and Sanctuary, 7pm to 3am both nights.

The four rooms run on one clock. Each stage has six sets a night, and they mostly start and finish at the same times as the other three. All four stages are playing for the whole night except five minutes on Friday and ten on Saturday. So the night comes in rounds, and every round is a pick of one from four.

Moving between rooms mostly costs you whole sets, not halves. 41 of the 48 sets start and end inside a set on another stage.

The early rounds are where you can wander. All eight 7pm openers, and 25 of the 48 acts in total, have no other show on our calendar. Those are names you won't find on any other bill we track, so the early rounds are worth turning up for.

Friday at 10:30: three rooms, then Chase & Status at 11

Ian Asher on Elm Street, Wax Motif on Monsterhaus and MaRLo on Sanctuary all play 10:30 to midnight. Chase & Status start Camp Crystal Lake at 11 and play until 12:15.

If you stay for all of Chase & Status, you miss the first 15 minutes of everything at midnight. The easy answer is to stay put: Wooli follows them on the same stage at 12:20. Their only other show on our calendar is Hocus Pocus in Miami the same weekend.

Friday at midnight: four sets, all 90 minutes

Odd Mob on Elm Street, Sara Landry on Sanctuary and Mikey Wong on Monsterhaus all play midnight to 1:30, with Wooli on from 12:20. Odd Mob plays Austin the next night, at 9:25 on Freaky Deaky's Reactor stage, so this is the Edmonton chance.

The last 90 minutes, both nights

Both nights end the same way. Four sets start at 1:30, all four end at 3, and nothing finishes early to let you split it.

On Friday it is Alesso, Kayzo, Jackie Hollander and Flatland Funk. Jackie Hollander has 10 upcoming shows on our calendar, more than anyone else on this bill.

On Saturday it is Tiësto, ANIME, Kris Harvey and Titus 1. Tiësto has played 184 festivals in our records, more than any other artist we track. Pick one before you go.

Saturday: Elm Street is the one room with a path

Saturday's other rounds are four-way picks too. At 10:30 it is Sullivan King, Westend and Andrew Rayel, with KREAM from 10:45. At midnight it is SVDDEN DEATH, Matroda and BEAUZ, all until 1:30.

Elm Street is the exception. KREAM plays 10:45 to 12:20, Gryffin plays 12:25 to 1:25, and Tiësto starts at 1:30. Gryffin's hour is the only one-hour set after 10:30 on either night. Stand in one spot from 10:45 and you get all three, with five minutes between each.

The cost is everything else after 10:45: Sullivan King, Westend, Andrew Rayel, SVDDEN DEATH, Matroda and BEAUZ. If Tiësto is your close anyway, that is the trade.

Four of these names play Seattle the same weekend

Kayzo, Sara Landry, Joshwa and Westend are also on the BOO Seattle bill for the same two nights. BOO has not put out its times yet, so watch for those.

The full grid is on the SCREAM Edmonton event page. Save your sets there, and settle your two 1:30 picks before Friday.
