Sixteen DJs are booked in Ohio and California on the same weekend
Two bass festivals, two coasts, one weekend, sixteen names on both bills. No other pair of overlapping festivals we hold comes close.
Most festivals that run on the same weekend don't share anybody. The ones that do usually share one name, and usually they're a few hours apart by car.
Lost Lands and Nocturnal Wonderland share sixteen. Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio, 18 to 20 September. Glen Helen Regional Park in San Bernardino, California, 19 to 20 September. 1,957 miles apart, computed from the coordinates we store for both venues.
That is the largest overlap between any two festivals on our upcoming calendar, and it isn't close.
Sixteen names, two time zones
The full list, all sixteen on both bills: BARELY ALIVE, Basstripper, Hedex, ILLENIUM, INFEKT, Jkyl & Hyde, Kompany, LAYZ, NGHTMRE, Nikita, the Wicked, Riot, SampliFire, Seven Lions, SIPPY, Subsonic and Virtual Riot.
Three of them have no other festival dates left this year at all. BARELY ALIVE, Basstripper and Riot each hold exactly two upcoming shows on our books, and they are these two — 1,957 miles and one weekend apart. If you want to see any of the three in 2026, those are the dates, and you have to pick a coast.
How unusual this is
371 pairs of festivals on our calendar have date ranges that genuinely intersect. 80 of those pairs share at least one artist. Of the 80, 41 share exactly one, and only three share ten or more.
Artists shared between festivals running on the same days
The runner-up makes the point better than the gap does. Portola and CRSSD Fall share fifteen artists on 26 and 27 September — but they are San Francisco and San Diego, 455 miles, an in-state hop that agents book on purpose. Sixteen across two coasts is a different kind of weekend.
What we can't tell you yet
Lost Lands runs Friday through Sunday. Nocturnal runs Saturday and Sunday. Only Saturday and Sunday actually collide, so a Friday slot in Ohio and a Saturday slot in California is a perfectly ordinary routing, and some of the sixteen are almost certainly doing exactly that.
We don't hold set times for either festival yet. Most publish two to seven days out and both are more than three weeks away, so nobody can say today which of the sixteen are on stage in two states on the same day. When the schedules land they'll be in the app, and this is the weekend to check them against each other.
The rest of the Lost Lands bill
Worth saying plainly, because sixteen shared names is a small share of a very large lineup.
Lost Lands has 210 named acts. That is the third-largest bill in our catalog, behind Creamfields at 242 and III Points at 212. 62 of the 210 play no other festival we hold this year. Counting Nocturnal and the five names it also shares with Experts Only Festival in New York, 21 of its 210 are booked somewhere else that weekend — under a tenth of the bill.
So this is not a festival with a routing problem. It is a very big bass lineup that happens to sit on the same two days as the year's other very big bass lineup, and sixteen artists said yes to both.
If you have a ticket to one, read the other's lineup before you go. Sixteen of the acts you were planning to see are announced in two places, and for three of them this weekend is the whole rest of the year.

A festival counts as upcoming until the day after it ends, which is the rule the artist pages use, so the per-artist counts above should match what you see there. Placeholder rows such as Lineup TBA are filtered before counting, artist matching is case-insensitive, and same-weekend overlaps are computed by true date-range intersection rather than by bucketing dates into weekends. Distances are great-circle, from the venue coordinates stored on each festival.
