Distinct Motive plays five festivals in the next six weeks

Distinct Motive plays Lost Lands on Friday. Then five more festivals between September 24 and October 25.

Six of the seven weekends between Friday and Halloween have Distinct Motive on a lineup somewhere.

What Distinct Motive sounds like

Wait a Minute is the one the app pins to the top of the artist page. The Nick came out in August on We Are Deadbeats Vol. 7, and Ricky, with Wraz., has been out since April.

The records go out on Deep, Dark & Dangerous, where the credits go back to 2017, and more recently on Deadbeats and SubCarbon. Ninety seconds of that will tell you more than a paragraph of adjectives.

The count

Eight festival bills still to come this year, which is 13th on our Most Booked board for the rest of 2026.

Here's the part that's ours. We hold 43 festival bookings for Distinct Motive all-time, which ranks 294th of the 7,989 acts in that count. Eight of those 43 are still ahead. That's a Canadian act well into a run, not at the start of one.

You'll know the company on those bills, too. Four of the five dates in the next six weeks also have Casey Club on them and four have Richard Finger. Three have Cool Customer and three have Duffrey.

These aren't 200-name bills, either. Lost Lands on Friday has 217 acts on it. The five after it carry 85, 62, 63, 81 and 30 — Get Freaky at the Saltair is a thirty-name lineup, which is a different sort of night out for the same set.

• Submersion Festival 2026 — Hammonton, October 1–3
• Valley of the Seven Stars — Arrington, October 9–11
• Get Freaky — The Great Saltair, Salt Lake City, October 23–25

Wakaan and Submersion both run October 1–3, one on Mulberry Mountain in Arkansas and one in Hammonton, New Jersey. For you that's a choice rather than a double weekend.

After that there's Haunted Fest Pittsburgh on October 30, and then nothing until Temper Festival at Petco Park on December 30.
